Lauren Quaeck, HWB Coordinator

Lauren Quaeck, HWB Coordinator

Lauren coordinates the work of the HWB in Penrhyndeudraeth and the surrounding area, which includes the villages of Croesor, Llanfrothen, Minffordd and Rhyd. Her day to day work includes organising activities for the adult social prescribing programme - Dod yn ol at dy Goed, Cynefin a Chymuned i Blant for primary school children and coordinating the Digital project. Lauren has been with the project since 2020, and is originally from Penrhyndeudraeth area.

Tanya Woolway, Energy Warden

Tanya Woolway, Energy Warden

Tanya is Y Dref Werdd's Energy Warden since 2022. She is ready to provide advice and support to reduce energy use, help with energy bills or debts, explain bills and tariffs, install energy saving measures such as LED bulbs and draft prevention materials and give support with grants. Tanya grew up in Blaenau and still lives in the heart of the community to this day.

Megan Elin Griffiths, Educational Project Worker

Megan Elin Griffiths, Educational Project Worker

Meg started as an Environmental Assistant with us in 2022, and is now working as our Educational Project Worker. Her role is to visit schools in the Ffestiniog area to teach and inspire kids about the environment. Meg is also responsible for the Casglu a Chysylltu group which holds litter picking events in the local area with volunteers. Originally from Croesor, she is still living there today.

Wil Gritten, Food Growing and Log Bank Coordinator

Wil Gritten, Food Growing and Log Bank Coordinator

Wil is responsible for the community log bank, and developing three new sites for growing and distributing fruit and vegetables locally. Wil is one of the most recent members of staff on the project joining us in 2022. Originally from Croesor, Wil continues to live there today.

Rhian Williams, Wellbeing Project Worker and Line Manager

Rhian Williams, Wellbeing Project Worker and Line Manager

Rhian is one of the first faces you see when you arrive at our Drop-in Centre. Rhian's job is to provide support and advice to members of the community which includes advice with benefits, energy, supporting the local food bank, and much more. Rhian joined the team in 2019 and there's not much she can't do! She now also works as a Line Manager within the company. Originally from Carmarthenshire, she is now living in Blaenau Ffestiniog with her family.

Non Roberts, HWB Coordinator

Non Roberts, HWB Coordinator

Non is our coordinator in the Bro Ffestiniog area, she has worked with Y Dref Werdd since 2015. Non's day to day work includes orginising activities for the adult social prescribing, Dod Nol At Dy Goed, Cynefin a Chymuned for primary school children and coordinating the Digital project. Non lives in Blaenau Ffestiniog, where she is from originally.

Marged Eardley, Wellbeing Project Worker

Marged Eardley, Wellbeing Project Worker

Marged is a new member of staff since July 2022 and co-works with Rhian in the drop-in centre in town. Her role is to provide help and support on a range of enquiries from the office. Marged also supports our other projects within Y Dref Werdd from Cynefin a Chymuned i blant to our environmental work. Originally from Croesor, Marged has worked in the Ffestiniog area for the last 11 years.

Megan Thorman, Sustainable Steps Project Leader 

Megan joined the team in 2019 as our Environmental Project Worker. Megan is is responsible for leading projects to improve habitats, biodiversity, nature education projects, develop community green spaces, planting trees and creating a community tree nursery. She also works as a Line Manager within Y Dref Werdd. Meg is originally from Blaenau and continues to live here today.

Emma Ody, Coordinator of Repair Cafes in Blaenau and Penrhyndeudraeth

Emma Ody, Coordinator of Repair Cafes

Emma also joined the team in 2022. She is responsible for establishing both of our Blaenau and Penrhyndeudraeth repair cafes 'Ffiws', where anyone can drop in to learn some new skills, repair beloved items or design something original using our high tech equipment. She is also working on converting donated bikes into electric ones, for future use in the community. Originally from Rhosllanerchrugog, Emma is now settled in Criccieth.

Hefin Hamer, Community Craftsman

Hefin Hamer, Community Craftsman

Hefin has been working with Y Dref Werdd since 2020, helping with all aspects of the project from Rhodedendron control to leading bushcraft and nature sessions. Most recently Hef has been working with Wil building the traditional skill centre (Celtic roundhouse) and the log bank. Hef was born and bred in Blaenau Ffestiniog and works tirelessly to support his community.

Awen Jones, Project Worker

Awen re-joined Y Dref Werdd in 2023 as a Project Worker, and her responsibilities include supporting the team with administrative work and coordinating the Community Electric Cars that are available for hire. Awen is originally from Llan Ffestiniog and still lives there today.

Gwydion Ap Wynn, Project Manager

Gwydion has been managing Y Dref Werdd since 2015 and is responsible for the running of the company as a whole. This entails managing the staff and their projects, the company's financial matters and is also accountable to the board of directors on a regular basis. Gwydion is originally from Croesor and lives in the Llecheiddior area near Garndolbenmaen.

Gari Wyn Jones, Community Driver

Gari Wyn Jones, Community Driver

Gari is our new Community Driver, and has been with us since November 2023. He uses our community electric vehicles to transport people from the Blaenau or Penrhyndeudraeth area to their medical appointments, to local social activities, and to collect food. Gari is originally from Blaenau, and continues to live in the area today.

Charlotte Jones, Ffiws Coordinator

Charlotte is our most recent team member and is responsible for implementing our employment support, Dim yn Dwp. Charlotte will advertise local jobs as well as volunteering opportunities in the Bro Ffesiniog area and beyond. Her face will also be the first you see at Ffiws Y Dref Werdd where she volunteers for us very consistently every week. Charlotte lives in Blaenau Ffestiniog with her family.
