Coedlan Cwt Crwn

'Safle Antur' is a hidden oasis near Llechwedd, Blaenau Ffestiniog. The area was once the site of ancient woodland, has been pasture for horses, and a plantation site.  In recent years it was clear felled for the A470 road improvements, and since then has naturally regenerated with Birch, Willow scrub and a few other native and invasive non-native species such as Rhododendron Ponticum, Japanese Knotweed, and Buddleia.  Volunteers and staff have been working hard on the site since 2020 to restore the woodland, removing fallen trees and invasive species, clearing areas to let in light, and creating new habitats for wildlife such as a pond and more native tree planting, to improve biodiversity and to encourage more native wildlife.

We have created a nature trail and built an accessible roundhouse which is used for some of our wellbeing sessions and activities with Dod Nol At Dy Goed.
